Senator Cory Booker

Cory Booker is New Jersey's junior Senator, having won the seat in 2013 in a special election when Frank Lautenberg passed away in office.  He was re-elected to a full six-year term in 2014.  Prior to the U.S. Senate, he served on the City Council of Newark, and was later elected Mayor of Newark in 2006.  He was raised in Harrington Park, NJ and still lives in Newark to this day. He received his undergraduate degree from Stanford University where he played on the varsity football team. While at Stanford, he also was awarded a Rhodes Scholarship and went on to study at the University of Oxford where he received an honors degree in History. He then completed his education at Yale Law School, receiving his J.D. in 1997.  Today he serves on the following Senate Committees: Foreign Relations, Commerce Science and Transportation, Small Business and Entrepreneurship, and Environment and Public Works.
