Immigration and Customs Enforcement has become a bloated money-suck of cruelty and abuse of immigrants (and those that "look" like immigrants).
And despite Democratic control of the House, little has been done to limit the funds at ICE's disposal.
Thus, Indivisible is calling us, this week, to join their #DefundHate Week of Action.
The week starts with National Call-In Day tomorrow, September 9. Use the call tool here to demand that you MoC to cut funding for ICE and CBP.
Then, on Friday, join us at Rep. Albio Sires office at 4 PM on Friday, September 13 to give him the message in person.
And finally, look for social media actions, or start your own using this digital toolkit.
-The NJ legislature is yet to act on Governor Murphy's conditional veto of the tax incentives bill, so be sure to call your reps(or call again!).
-On September 17, Hoboken Councilperson Emily Jabbour and State Assemblywoman Annette Chapparo are hosting an informational meeting about ranked-choice voting by Fair Vote at the Hoboken Public Library.
-And finally, we have our eyes on a planned Never Again Action civil disobedience at the ICE Field Office in Newark on Thursday, October 3rd.
