If you live in Hudson County, you have no doubt received your sample ballot for the primary election on Tuesday. And while there may not be as much choice as we would like, you may find yourself with some interesting decisions to make.
Force the Issue New Jersey has a great profile on three Hudson County Progressive Alliance candidates--Rachael O'Brien, Ryan Moser, and Caitlin Sherman--running competitive races. Take a look to see if one is running in your district!
In addition to those three, Taryn Boland and Marc Devens are running a write-in campaign for JC Ward E, District 14, and Leslie Lone is running off the line in Ward F, District 27, as are Ayana DeNovellis and Kevin Bing in Ward C, District 16.
Force the Issue NJ has also posted a detailed look at candidates Roger Quesada and Mahmoud Mahmoud, who are running against the machine candidates in New Jersey's 32nd legislative district.
And finally, you've probably noticed the one challenger in the race for County Executive. Patricia Waiters, a former nurse and corrections officer from Hoboken, is running on an anti-corruption platform against incumbent Tom DeGise.
Democracy is all about having a choice--so get out and vote on Tuesday!
Who to Call
As much as we'd rather focus on progressive priorities, for the third week in a row, the question of impeachment in the House of Representatives looms. There is growing support in the House, and among Democratic presidential candidates. Your Rep needs to know how you feel:
