Join NJ-08 for Progress at next Saturday's March for Our Lungs in Ridgefield, NJ. The March, organized by students from around the state, is protesting the construction of the Meadowlands Power Plant, a natural gas plant that will be the largest emitter of carbon dioxide in the state, slated to sit along a flood-prone stretch of the Hackensack River.
And the kicker? All of the power it generates will bypass New Jersey to provide electricity to New York.
The March will begin at 1PM at Ridgefield Memorial High School. Email us if you need transportation.
Sign Up to Help Canvass
We had a great time coordinating our campaign approaches last Wednesday at our County Committee Campaign training, and we came out with a list of candidates who would love canvassing support in the run up to the June 4 primary.
Use our signup sheet here to volunteer to knock doors for one of our candidates in competitive races. We currently have plans to canvass the weekend of May 25-27, and June 1-2, but if you are available at other times, let us know.
Who to Call
Indivisible organized a call to MoCs on Thursday to ask for the rejection of additional funds for security and detention at the southern border. Even though Thursday is passed, it is never a bad idea to remind our Congresspeople to #DefundHate--check out their script here, and give them a call at 1-844-909-0232.
