According to U.S Census estimates, 20.2 million people live in the New York Metropolitan Area. We all have somewhere to be, and we rely on our highways, streets, buses, train stations, and pedestrian plazas. This August, take action with NJ-08 For Progress to demand better transportation that improves our economy, protects our environment and preserves our quality of life.
1. #TransportationWishList - What transportation improvements would you like to see? Quicker PATH trains? Cheaper ferry service? Dedicated bike lanes? Post #transportationwishlist and be sure to tag @NJ08forProgress and @RepSires.
At the end of the month we will compile our list and send it to Congressman Sires.
2. 21st Century New Deal for Jobs – In May, the Congressional Progressive Caucus introduced the 21st Century New Deal for Jobs, a comprehensive plan for infrastructure investment that will create jobs and increase access to mass transit, affordable housing, and high speed internet.
Use our Citizen Action Form here to tell Rep. Albio Sires, who sits on the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, that he should publicly support the plan!
