Resolve to Keep Promises
What is your New Year's Resolution?
At NJ-08 for Progress, we have two:
1. We will make sure our state representatives, including our new governor, fulfill their campaign promises.
2. We will paint NJ a deeper shade of blue than ever in November 2018
1. Remind Murphy that he owes us a Clean $15
As part of our month of fighting for economic equality, we ask you to get in touch with Governor-Elect Phil Murphy, and our state representatives, to remind them of their promise to raise the statewide minimum wage to $15 per hour. Be sure to ask them for a Clean $15--no loopholes for trainees, farm workers, or handicapped employees.
Call Murphy's transition office at 609-292-0018 and your State Represenatives' and Senator's contact info here.
2. Prepare for the Progressive Voltron
Doug Jones and the people of Alabama gave us momentum, and reminded us of the power that grassroots organizing can wield in Congressional elections. We need no reminder that 2018 is an election year, and it fast approaches.
With six months before the primary elections give us our candidates to defeat Republican Representatives Frank LoBiondo, Tom MacArthur, Chris Smith, Leonard Lance, and Rodney Frelinghuysen, NJ-08 for Progress is making big plans. With our powers combined, progressive thinkers from all over New Jersey (but especially its 8th Congressional District) can turn this state a true shade of deep blue.
Watch for more in coming months, and, if you haven't already, read up on the work that our friends at Swing Left, Flippable, CODE BLUE, Sister District, and #KnockEveryDoor have been doing to get an idea of our plans.
