October Campaign Part 2

Protect DACA and End 287g

There's still time to take action on immigration with NJ-08 For Progress in OctoberAnd there's still a lot of work to do!

1.  Keep Up the Pressure to #end287g

Join Hudson for All THIS THURSDAY, 10/26, at 6PM, for the meeting of the Hudson County Board of Chosen Freeholders, at 567 Pavonia Ave in Jersey City.  Speakers from HFA will continue to pressure the Board to end the 287g agreement, improve conditions for detainees at the Hudson County Correctional Facility, and declare a Fair and Welcoming County.

You can also keep up the pressure on County Executive Tom DeGise:

2.  Promote a Clean Dream Act

In the wake of the dismantling of DACA by the current administration, it became clear that a majority of Americans and their elected representatives support the continuation of legal status of Dreamers.  However, we must continue to put pressure on Congress to act:

First, use our google form to thank Congressman Albio Sires for his statement of support for both DACA recipients and the clean Dream Act.

Then, extend a similar thanks to Senators Menendez and Booker for their statement of support for DACA, but also ask them to continue to pressure their colleagues to bring the Graham-Durbin proposal to the floor, and make DACA protections permanent.

And finally, join United We Dream in sending a petition asking Congress as a whole to pass a real Dream Act now!
